Dragons Lodge Wedding Gabriola Island | Andrea & Jeff

Gabriola Island wedding's are some of my favourites. It's a little island off Nanaimo BC that is filled with artisans, beautiful quiet beaches, secret swimming holes, delicious little restaurants and character filled shops to explore. When I recently got to visit Dragon's Lodge for the intimate wedding of Andrea & Jeff, I was delighted by everything I saw :) The lodge can accommodate a large group of people for overnights which is perfect as the oceanfront space in front of the home is so picturesque for weddings. The lodge itself is 6500 square feet & guests can choose one of the 11 ocean and forest view rooms or 11 cedar sleeping cabins nestled in the surrounding forest. It's a magical little hideaway!

The winds were blowing strong on the day of Andrea & Jeff's wedding so they decided to have their ceremony under a tent on the patio, but this didn't stop us from getting out and adventuring in the forest and on the edges of the cliffs overlooking the ocean for bride & groom portraits. It was so wonderful. As the sun set, Andrea & Jeff went back to the lodge to have their first dance outside on the patio overlooking the water before dinner & celebrations continued into the evening. It was a pretty perfect day :)

Gabriola Island is just 25 minutes via BC Ferries from downtown Nanaimo. It is an incredible place for a day trip or for a wilderness escape at a local B&B.
